Personal Skills

From a young age experimenting with various computer systems and software I have had an enthusiastic interest in the media industry particularly in web design, visual design & development. I have always been very interested in Web design and development because very often this allows you to work from a blank canvas and give you an opportunity to create a unique product.

Since commencing Art College in 2003, I have been ever more interested in this area & my goal is to further my skills fully in these areas for work later on in life.  Over the years I have expanded my skills in a large numbers of applications & programming languages, throughout Art College & University. I constantly used these skills to develop my ideas within my work & projects at The University of Plymouth as well as my own work in my spare time and for work on private client projects.

Some of the applications I am highly skilled in are the Adobe creative suite, which include Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash and Illustrator. I am also experienced in a range of programming languages which include Html and XHtml, Css, Xml, Action Script 2/3, and have also experimented with other languages such as PHP, Java and big Brand API’s. I have been using and experimenting with these programs and software packages for the duration of my courses at Plymouth Art College and The University of Plymouth.

Throughout my time at the Art College & Plymouth University I have studied other applications that I have never experienced. From completing projects in these areas I have become more knowledgeable of these new applications & languages & plan to use & develop these new skills in future work throughout & after University. These include 3D Studio Max, which I have used a small number of times to design 3d models & animations for current projects.
I have also been introduced to new programming languages such as Asp & JavaScript, which are very new to me & will be using in future projects & assignments.
