My Web Role at the College
I have now been working at the college for around 2 years and built up a lot of work and skills in that time.
My main roles at the college are to keep the college website up to date and maintain a good range of information for parents, staff and students can access on a daily basis.
I also work with individual department members of staff with work that they have requested for me to undertake. This could include anything from a redesign of a specific area on the website, a new website or mini site for a new project, posters, magazines, leaflets, flyers, general advertisements for and around the college and anything design related.
Since working at the college since September 2007 I have also been in control of three digital signage machines. These machines are remotely operated from my computer system in the college and can have any sort of medium playing on them or any static material on them.
This is other way that all events and projects or anything, which is happening within the college, can be advertised and promoted to students and staff but also visitors on a daily basis.
At present the college website is going through a major web design change ready for the start of the 2009 curriculum year. When I first started in 2007 I did the same redesign job as soon as I started. Now it has been two years it is in need of a good sort out and redesign for more use by students and staff giving it a fresh new look and feel.
